Information regarding the county's time line for long term
care reform plan was given. It is anticipated that by fall of 2008 the
enrollment process would begin to take place. After that within 6 months the
waiver clients would be moved over to Long Term Care. Then within the first 24
months the waitlist of about 2300 individual's would be eliminated.
Discussion of what Providers can expect?
Currently there is not a good sense of what providers can
expect. They are in the preliminary stages of planning and it is too early to
determine which way it will go. They do state that they will need to figure
out what will need to be done first or the best way to avoid gaps in service.
Discussion of what Rates will be?
There is a concern of a standard rate that may not be
appropriate for someone with many needs. In Family Care the rates can be
negotiated by looking at that the costs are for people that are being served.
Discussion of what is a Self Directive Support?
This is when a member can take their allotted dollars and be
in charge of their own care. The state is issuing an RFP this fall for a Self
Directive Support Services Vendor.
